Lower Body Lift

Significant weight loss is a cause for celebration and an incredible accomplishment. Unfortunately, massive weight loss often results in loose, hanging skin on the abdomen, hips, thighs, and buttocks. This skin is unsightly and can be uncomfortable when it rubs together.

Surgery is the only way to remove this excess skin. A lower body lift consists of one or more skin excision procedures to sculpt and tighten your body contours.

Am I a Candidate for a Lower Body Lift?

Many of the women who consider a lower body lift have lost a considerable amount of weight and now have hanging skin and residual fat pockets. Candidates for a lower body lift do not smoke, are close to their ideal weight, are in good overall health, and have realistic expectations of their results.

What Are the Benefits of a Lower Body Lift?

A lower body lift is beneficial for women who:

  • Have hanging, flabby skin
  • Have localized fat pockets
  • Experience chafing and rubbing of the skin
  • Want tighter, firmer contours
  • Desire a wider selection of clothing
  • Want a rounder, fuller derrière

What Does a Lower Body Lift Include?

A lower body lift is a combination of body contouring procedures that address tissue laxity on the lower body.

These procedures are performed alone or in combination with each other to sculpt and enhance your physical contour.

The lower body lift is performed under general anesthesia with the assistance of a certified anesthesiologist who will remain present throughout the procedure to monitor your vitals and ensure your safety.

What Is a Thigh Lift?

Unlike many plastic surgeons, Dr. Kronowitz performs the inner and outer thigh lift with a hidden incision. Most thigh lift surgeries are performed with an incision made on the inside of the thigh that extends from the groin to the knee-area.

Dr. Kronowitz has developed a revolutionary thigh lift technique that reduces the circumference of the thigh and removes excess, sagging skin through a hidden incision made in the groin area. This incision is easily concealable with underwear and bathing suits.

What Is a Buttock Lift?

A buttock lift restores volume, shape, and projection to the buttocks. This is accomplished with a Brazilian Butt Lift.

The Brazilian Butt Lift is a fat transfer procedure that harvests fat from the abdomen, thighs, back, or arms, and transfers it to the buttocks. This fat increases the size, shape, and projection of the butt.

Will I Need a Tummy Tuck?

Tummy tuck surgery is commonly performed in a lower body lift to restore firmness and definition to the abdomen. This procedure removes loose skin and tightens the underlying muscles that may have stretched due to weight fluctuations or pregnancy.

Where Will Liposuction Be Performed?

Liposuction is included in nearly all body lift procedures to eliminate fatty deposits. Even after significant weight loss, pockets of fat can remain that are resistant to all forms of diet and exercise. Liposuction can reduce the size of the abdomen, hips, thighs, lower back, flanks, and buttocks.

How Long Is My Lower Body Lift Recovery?

The lower body lift is an outpatient procedure, and you can return home to begin your recovery period shortly after the anesthesia wears off.

The extent of your recovery period will depend on the combination of procedures that you choose. Regardless, you can expect to develop bruising, swelling, tenderness, and soreness in the treatment areas. Compression garments/dressings may be wrapped around these treated areas, and you can minimize post-operative pain with prescribed pain medication.

You will want to take it easy for one to two weeks. We suggest taking leisurely walks to encourage blood flow, but you should not strain your body.

Most patients return to work and their day-to-day activities after two weeks, but strenuous exercise should be avoided for at least six weeks.

How Much Does a Lower Body Lift Cost?

The lower body lift is a comprehensive contouring procedure, and the total cost of this surgery will vary significantly on the specific techniques chosen by you and Dr. Kronowitz. They do not include external factors like anesthesia fees, and facility fees. Dr. Kronowitz will provide you with an accurate cost estimate once your surgical plan has been established.

When Will I See My Lower Body Lift Results?

Your lower body lift results will be noticeable immediately after the procedure but will continue to improve and define as the bruising and swelling subside and the contours take on their final shape.

You can expect slimmer lines and firmer body contours for years to come. While these procedures provide long-lasting results, they are not considered to be permanent because they are dependent on you maintaining your results. You can prolong the quality of these by keeping a stable weight.
