What Is Liposuction?

For leg liposuction, Dr. Kronowitz will make a small, inconspicuous incision in the thigh. Then, through this incision, a small tub called a cannula will be inserted to loosen any stubborn pockets of subcutaneous fat. Once loosened, this fat is suctioned out of your body, and once removed, those fall cells are gone permanently.
Liposuction is a great option for patients who suffer from excess fat on their inner and/or upper thighs but do not have excess skin that is sagging on the legs.
What Is a Thigh Lift?
Thigh lift surgery is geared for men and women who suffer from skin laxity in the upper and lower thighs. You can have either inner thigh lift surgery or outer thigh lift surgery.
For an inner thigh lift, an incision is made in the groin area. Liposuction may be used to remove any stubborn fat in the area. Then, the underlying tissue in the inner portion of the thigh will be lifted and secured in place with internal sutures. Excess skin is surgically removed, and the incision is closed.
An outer thigh lift requires similar techniques, though this incision begins in the groin area and continues down and around the entire thigh.
As with an inner thigh lift, liposuction may be used to remove any pockets of fat, the underlying tissue will be lifted and secured, and excess skin will be trimmed before the incisions are closed.
